After a flight of 402 kilometers, the first pigeon of Henk arrived with a breathtaking speed of 2019 meters per minute (just over 120 km per hour!) at 16:19:24 at its loft. The winning pigeon, NL.21-1543771, an experienced hen, was the 30th out of the 31 pigeons Henk had entered. This pigeon had already delivered impressive performances in the N.P.O. races, but this victory is her greatest triumph to date.
Results to Be Proud Of
It was an excellent day for Henk Marsman, as no less than 15 of his 31 pigeons won a prize. Although this is just shy of 50%, it remains an impressive achievement. The total results of Henk's pigeons were as follows: 1 - 81 - 176 - 312 - 371 - 519 - 858 - 1060 - 1192 - 1353 - 1472 - 1501 - 1503 - 1587 - 1939.
Special Aspect of the Race
A notable detail of this victory is that the old pigeons were played on nest for the first time this year. This is a less popular method in today's pigeon sport, but given Henk’s shift work, it was a practical choice. This victory makes it all the more special and demonstrates Henk’s versatility and adaptability as an enthusiast.
