It seems as though this plague, almost forgotten, has returned with full force. This time, the focus is on those who have remained loyal to their passion over the years and the proud winners of prestigious long-distance races. Throughout the autumn, the thieves have already struck, first at a fancier whose national champion was stolen, and then at another giant in the pigeon world, where valuable breeding hens were taken.
And now, under the cover of night, two new attempted thefts have been reported. At a well-known winner’s property, the security was breached, and even the vigilant shepherd dog was incapacitated. Although the pigeons were spared this time, the fear and uncertainty are undeniable. Another fancier saw her property also attacked, this time captured by the watchful eyes of cameras, showing a masked figure working with meticulous precision.
The damage is not only material; it also strikes at the soul. Enthusiasts who once joyfully cared for their pigeons now lie awake, haunted by the looming threat of another attack. Many keep their suffering silent, carrying their unspoken sorrow within. But the danger is real, and each assault leaves new scars.
It is a dark time for the community. The police can only offer warnings, but the true defense lies in vigilance. Secure your property, protect what you love, and share what you know. Perhaps, one day, this evil will be stopped. Until then, the nights remain filled with unease, and the air heavy with fear.
Until the next blog,
