In the world of pigeon racing, Mark Janssens from Lummen is a name synonymous with speed. This season, once again, he showed why he belongs to the absolute top. But the pigeon talent flows further in the family, as his daughter Stefanie also delivered impressive results. Together, they prove that the passion for speed runs in their veins.

The Power Of The Mini-Colony
One of the most striking aspects of Mark Janssens' approach is his modest colony. With just a handful of pigeons, he consistently outperforms the competition. Mark focuses primarily on young pigeons and keeps his system simple and effective. "It perfectly fits with my job," says Mark.
The breeding loft consists of just 14 pairs. Each year, one round of young pigeons is bred for Mark and a second round for Stefanie. Despite the small numbers, the results are greater than ever.
A Rich History
Mark's passion for pigeons didn’t appear out of nowhere. His father, Jules Janssens, was an avid speed racing enthusiast, and his brothers shared this love. After moving to Linkhout, Mark immediately built a pigeon loft in his backyard.
Key reinforcements came from top pigeons from various lofts, such as Flor Vervoort, Peter Stakenborg, and Stefan Steenbergen. These selective crossings laid the foundation for his current successes.
Proven Quality
The success of the Janssens pigeons isn’t limited to his own loft. Offspring are performing well in both domestic and international competitions. For example, a half-sister of Mark’s top pigeon won 1st Provincial in England against 800 young pigeons.
Feed from Beyers and veterinary care from Raf Herbots provide perfect support for his colony. "We don’t deviate from our system," says Mark confidently.
A Future Full Of Promise
After an impressive season, Mark Janssens remains humble, but his achievements speak for themselves. The combination of an efficient approach, proven bloodlines, and an undeniable passion for speed makes him a unique champion in pigeon racing. Together with his daughter Stefanie, the future promises even more glory.
Congratulations, Mark and Stefanie, on these outstanding achievements!
