The true mark of a champion isn’t how they fly when the wind is at their back, but how they fight when the competition gets razor-sharp. This past weekend, the results in the South Limburg town of Vijlen might have been a bit more modest compared to the extraterrestrial chain results we witnessed over the last few weeks, but anyone who thinks the Lindelauf train has stalled is dead wrong. Pigeon racing is elite topsport, and you simply cannot roll up the entire province every single week. What Piet Lindelauf demonstrated once again is pure class wrapped in sheer perseverance. Even on a tough day, the Piet Lindelauf Pigeons prove their absolute elite status.
The Battle Against the Elements from Chalons en Champagne
This past Saturday, the race from Chalons en Champagne was on the agenda. The birds were released at exactly 09:15 AM into a serious field of no less than 3,746 pigeons in competition. The weather conditions tested the flying capabilities and character of these athletes to the absolute limit. With light cloud cover, a temperature of 15 degrees, and a fairly moderate wind from the south, the birds had to give it everything they had from the word go.
This was no race for lucky seekers. This was a final exam for the true powerhouses. The Piet Lindelauf Pigeons had to fight for every single meter across a distance of 234.939 kilometers. The fastest pigeons from the loft clocked a speed of 1594.251 meters per minute. Although the absolute top clash this week turned into a millimeter sprint in the flying area, Piet maintained a fantastic grip on the race with an incredibly strong series in the width of the field. In the rankings, he grabbed the 64th, 65th, 67th, and 68th prizes in rapid succession. That means four pigeons arriving within a timespan of just three seconds. That is no fluke; that is the Lindelauf discipline in optima forma.

A Year of Pure Dominance and Bravado
To put this weekend into the right perspective, we only need to look back briefly at the crushing masterclasses Piet already put on the mat earlier this racing season:
On Saturday, April 18, from Rethel, Piet claimed the absolute 1st prize against 750 pigeons in the SouthEast Corner with NL25-1472738, which thundered to victory at a speed of 1441 meters per minute. Within five minutes, five of his pigeons were already clocked at the absolute top of the rankings.
Just a week later, on April 25, the total decimation of Rethel followed. Against 3,681 pigeons, NL25-1472774 claimed the 1st prize at 1368 meters per minute. Piet pulled off an incredible feat that day by flying no less than 34 pigeons into the prizes.
On May 9, the Sourdun Wrecking Ball swept across the flight line. Against 3,471 competitors, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes were hijacked, led by the phenomenal hen Young Ace bearing ring number NL24-8598618. At the provincial level against a massive 14,304 pigeons, this translated into a breathtaking 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
These figures show that the foundation of this loft is unshakable. It reminds us of the magical 2025 season, where Piet was crowned 1st Best Fancier of the Netherlands Unnominated and secured no less than six national top 10 positions.
The Golden DNA of an Immortal Dynasty
The success in Vijlen is built on a bedrock of decades of uncompromising selection. With incredible passion and pleasure, Piet continues to build on the legacy forged by his father, the legendary Gerard Lindelauf. The absolute cornerstone of this success story remains the miracle breeder Liam with ring number NL13-1544966. The descendants of this golden male simply know how to win, whether the sun is blazing or the wind is right in their faces.
Just look at the phenomenal pedigree of the fresh Sourdun winner, Young Ace. She was bred from Rocky directly coupled with Gouden Crackje. In that bloodline, you immediately see the magical influence of Liam and Gouden Gien return, the absolute elite of international pigeon racing. It is this specific gold flowing through their veins that ensures the Piet Lindelauf Pigeons storm home as a tight, unified block, even on the less-than-perfect days.
Pigeon racing is a beautiful sport because it is an elite game where emotion, strategy, and nature collide. Piet Lindelauf proves that with flair, a healthy dose of bravado, and unconditional dedication, you will always stay at the top. The bar has been set incredibly high over the past few weeks, and the maestro from Vijlen is already busy putting the finishing touches on his squad for the next confrontation in the skies.
Have you already optimized your racing team for the fierce speeds and shifting wind conditions of the coming weeks?
