With a heavy heart, I, Wayne McPherson, announce on behalf of the Marlbank organization that the Summer Race 2026 is cancelled until further notice. This is a message we never wanted to send, yet honesty and transparency are the values we live by.
Running a One Loft Race is a magnificent journey that we enjoy every single day. It represents the ultimate test for both the breeder and the bird. Because we set the bar so high for our participants and their feathered athletes, we reached this difficult conclusion. A combination of factors means we cannot guarantee the top quality that you expect from Marlbank at this time.
My sincere apologies go out to everyone who made plans or shared in the excitement. We love this sport too much to compromise on the care of the birds or the integrity of the competition. In pigeon racing, we learn that winning is wonderful, but the wellbeing of the pigeons and respect for our fellow fanciers are the foundations of everything we do.
While this specific chapter is taking a pause, our passion for the sport remains as strong as ever. We believe in the power of pigeon racing and the incredible bonds it creates between enthusiasts worldwide. We will keep a close eye on the horizon and hope to return with better news in the future.
