In the heart of East Flanders, in the quiet village of Idegem, a young fancier has built a reputation that even seasoned champions respect. His name is Jens van Cutsem, and his hen “Keti” (BE19-4177166) has become one of the brightest stars in modern Belgian pigeon racing.
Her story is not about luck or heritage alone — it’s about ambition, discipline, and a fancier who refused to settle for average.
From promise to supremacy
Between 2020 and 2022, Keti developed into a machine of precision. She didn’t just win; she dominated. Her record reads like a blueprint for consistency:
Ace Pigeon Hafo Dender 2022
3rd Provincial Orléans 21 087 pigeons
1st Noyon 598 p. 5th Noyon 2 144 p.
12th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Small Middle Distance 2021
14th Écouen 1 622 p.
1st Provincial Ace Pigeon Hafo Dender 2021
1st Provincial Ace Pigeon Youth Hafo 2020
Three consecutive seasons at the top — a level of continuity that only true class can sustain.
Bloodlines built for brilliance
“Keti” was bred with intent.
Her father BE12-2027505 “Grey Kristof Dehandschutter” carries the explosive speed of Boschmans–Speliers and Witte Engels (Vandenabeele).
Her mother BE12-4126812 “Blauwke Mother Keti” descends directly from Norbert V. Isseghem, blended with Theo Janssens and Hans Gelderbloem’s “De Senna.”
This pedigree isn’t fashionable — it’s functional. It produced balance, stamina, and an attitude that refuses to quit.
A method shaped by precision
Every result begins in the loft. Jens van Cutsem treats his pigeons like athletes, not numbers. Two training tosses a week, short recovery cycles, and razor-sharp motivation systems keep the birds in peak form. He studies their rhythm, their eyes, their behaviour — and acts on what he sees. Nothing happens by routine; everything happens by design. Keti is the embodiment of that system — calm, fast, and relentlessly regular.
A new dynasty from Idegem
When Keti retired to the breeding loft, her impact only grew.
Her children and grandchildren are already carving out their own reputations:
“New Keti” (B21-4015047) — multiple top-10 results and strong references.
“Keti’s Grizzly” (B22-4116183) — 1st Provincial Orléans 2023 against 16 471 old + young pigeons.
The Keti line is now a signature within the Van Cutsem loft — proof that great pigeons don’t end a story; they start one.
One More Super: Dirty Gray Keti – the Gray Goldmine of Idegem
Among the many champions bred by Jens Van Cutsem, one name stands out as a true breeding phenomenon: BE18-4133163 “Dirty Gray Keti.” A remarkable pigeon that not only performed well himself (1/124 Noyon, 3/185 Noyon) but proved to be an outstanding producer on the breeding loft. He is the father of top racers such as “Keti’s Grizzly” (1st Prov. Orléans 16,471 b., 2nd Prov. Ace KBDB OVL ’23, 1st Ace Hafo Dender ’23), “Twitje” (8× 1st prize), and “Little Grizzly 393/20” (1st Ace Hafo Dender, 30th Nat. Ace KBDB ’21). Even the next generation carries his stamp: “Gray 732/23” became 5th Provincial Ace Pigeon small-middle distance KBDB East Flanders 2023.
A look at his pedigree reveals a textbook example of deliberate top-breeding. “Dirty Gray Keti” is a son of “Grijze Kristof Dehandschot” × “Blauwke Moeder Keti,” lines loaded with speed, stamina, and consistency. On the father’s side, we find the renowned bloodlines of Speliers Bart, Boschmans-Speliers, and Vandenabeele, tracing back to the legendary Witte Engels family. The mother’s side brings the proven genes of V. Iseghem Norbert, Theo Janssens, and Hans Gelderbloem — families known for natural class and relentless performance.
The result: a genetic foundation that blends power, elegance, and orientation instinct — a combination rarely united in one pigeon.
“Dirty Gray Keti” isn’t a lucky hit; he’s living proof that knowledge, patience, and vision can forge generations of winners. That’s Jens Van Cutsem in a nutshell — building with strategy, breeding with heart, and performing with conviction.
The next generation of Belgian excellence
What distinguishes Jens van Cutsem is not only success, but mindset.
He represents a modern breed of Belgian fancier — analytical, humble, and fiercely competitive.
While others follow tradition, Jens refines it.
His results remind the pigeon world that innovation and instinct can live under one roof.
A legacy in motion
The rise of Keti is more than a tale of victories; it’s a statement of intent. From Idegem to every provincial ranking, her name stands for commitment, courage, and belief in the craft. And as her bloodline continues to win, one thing is certain — Jens van Cutsem and his Queen of Idegem have only just begun to shape the future of Belgian pigeon racing.
