I have made my decision. As of today, OLR Lasterie Zwiep in Murcia is officially Pigeon Boss Approved. I do not hand out my seal of approval to the first person who nails a loft together in their backyard. My followers know I only do business with men who understand the sport, breathe transparency, and build an arena where only the strongest survive. Check the list of approved races at pigeonboss.com/one-loft-races/ to see that quality is the only standard here.
The Architects of the Spanish Purgatory
Peter Lasterie and Hendri Zwiep are not dreamers but doers with a mountain of experience in the Dutch pigeon sport. In 2024, they built a state-of-the-art loft in Abanilla, Murcia, with a crystal clear vision. They wanted to provide a fair, professional, and transparent competition for the international elite where everything is done by the book.
The system they use is brutal but fair:
The total prize pool amounts to an impressive 135,000 euros.
The winner of the final race takes home 30,000 euros.
The first Ace Pigeon is rewarded with a top prize of 7,500 euros.
Participation costs 600 euros for a team of 6 pigeons, with 4 activated and 2 as reserves.
Activation of a reserve pigeon costs 150 euros per bird.
Nature’s Unforgiving Filter in Murcia
The 2026 edition proved that Murcia is a region on a completely different level than what we are used to in the north. Out of the 1,531 pigeons that started the adventure, only 349 warriors remained for the grand final after a preparation of ten training sessions and four hotspots. The flight from Pinzon, Sevilla, over 460 kilometers became a lesson in pure survival.
On Friday, March 27, 2026, at 09:00:00 AM, the crates were opened for the 460 kilometer flight.
A steady north-easterly wind of approximately 15.5 km/h formed an invisible wall over the entire distance.
The Spanish wilderness allowed only the very strongest to enter the final battle.
More than 31 hours after release, only 66 of the 349 finalists had safely reached the loft in Abanilla.
This represents an arrival rate of roughly 19 percent.
The Heroes of the Element
The absolute king of this edition is Steffen Sommer from Germany.
His bird, DV 04465-25-3805, was the first to hit the trap with a speed of 1113.28 m/min.
Dutchfield from the Netherlands followed in second place with NL 25-1545798 at 1102.13 m/min.
The Shannonside Boys from Ireland completed the podium with IHU 25-S 096351 at 1101.64 m/min.
The Future Starts Now
The battle in the sky may be over, but the fight for these genes is just beginning. On April 8th, the first sale of the final pigeons begins on GPLoft at www.gploft.com. In a few days, I will take you deeper into the bloodlines of these survivors. This is the material you build a breeding loft with that can take a punch.
I challenge you to do your homework now. Look at the results and the pedigrees of those 66 survivors who are now legends of tomorrow. Anyone who wants to play for the big money in Murcia next year cannot ignore these references. Lasterie Zwiep has created a filter that only the world elite can pass.
Are you a true winner or do you prefer to stay on the sidelines watching others take the glory and the cash? The Pigeon Boss network is for men who dare to invest in real power. Keep an eye on the site for the next update on the auction. Anyone who wants to see real results simply cannot go around the Boss.
