Marlbank OLR has officially been honored with the prestigious SANPO One Loft Of The Year 2025 award.

This is not just a piece of silverware. It is a massive testament to the dedication, hard work and relentless perseverance of the entire team. The organization is incredibly proud and thankful for this recognition. Wayne and Johan Jonker are the first to acknowledge that this phenomenal achievement was made possible through a massive collective effort. But what truly sets Marlbank apart is its unforgiving yet beautiful location. Situated in Sasolburg in the Free State, the race takes place on the Highveld at an altitude of roughly 1500 meters. The air is thin, the headwinds are fierce and the African sun takes no prisoners. It is a genuine survival of the fittest. When a pigeon conquers this landscape, you know you have bred a true gladiator. This unique environment demands the absolute best from both the racing pigeons and the loft managers.
