The Rules of the World Elite: How to Become the ‘Best Pigeon’?
Reaching the top of the FCI World Best Pigeon competition is an achievement of global proportions. The rules are strict to ensure sportsmanship:
The Coefficient: The winner is determined by the lowest coefficient (position x 1000 / number of pigeons), calculated to three decimal places.
Strict Requirements: For the ‘Speed’ category, a pigeon must achieve 5 prizes in races between 100-400 km, covering a total of at least 750 km. For ‘Marathon’, 2 races over 700 km are required.
Global Participation: Only pigeons with an official FCI ring, competing in races with at least 20 fanciers and 150 pigeons, are eligible.
