Who Are Theo and Markus Lecke
Theo and Markus Lecke from Holzhausen have been a well-known father and son partnership within the German racing pigeon scene. Theo is the pigeon man in the purest sense of the word, the caretaker with instinct and feeling. Markus stepped into the loft at the age of ten and became the organiser and selector behind the scenes.
Their colony became famous for strong German foundations mixed with proven Belgian bloodlines, with the renowned Kannibaal family of Dirk Van Dyck as one of the driving forces. Their birds were admired for both racing performance and breeding power, a combination that is not easy to create and even harder to maintain. The confidence to invest in outside champions was part of that success, which is why so many prestigious names appear in this auction.
