Folks, let the Belgians keep talking about their long-distance flyers and their big-name lofts. When I look at the roster we’re sending to Dortmund this year, I can only say one thing: stand tall. The dust has finally settled, the coefficients have been calculated to the third decimal point, and the selection for the Dutch Olympiad Pigeons 2026 is officially set.
I spent last night pouring over the list with a strong cup of coffee, and I’ll be honest, I got chills. This isn’t just a selection; it’s a fleet of flying torpedoes. We are sending men and women to the Westfalenhallen who don’t just understand the sport, they’ve spent the last two years absolutely dominating it.
The Results: The ‘Orange Squad’ for Dortmund
Here they are. The names that will leave the crowds in Dortmund speechless. These are the official Dutch Olympiad Pigeons 2026 defending our honor:

Calis and Verweij-de Haan: Survival of the Fittest
Let’s be real for a second: what the team from Bussum, G. & H. Calis, is pulling off borders on the impossible. Sending two pigeons in the brutal Middle Distance and All-Round categories… you don’t do that with just a bag of feed and some luck. You do that by forging a strain that thinks faster and flies harder than anything else in the sky. When you walk past their cages in Dortmund, take a moment. You’re looking at the absolute blueprint of the modern racing pigeon.
And then there’s Mijdrecht. Verweij-de Haan. Their marathon crack (NL21-1065432) is the kind of bird I dream about. While the rest of the field is tucked away in the bushes waiting for the first light, these pigeons are thundering through the darkness. Being crowned Western European Champion is great, but representing your country as one of the Dutch Olympiad Pigeons 2026 is the ultimate crowning achievement. Respect, gentlemen!
Wendela: Northern Grit and Pure Quality
Don’t forget Appingedam either. Wendela Wiersema is proving in Category G that you don’t need seventy years of experience to storm the world stage. Her yearling has put up results so tight you could align a ruler to them. It gives me a great feeling about the future of our sport to see this kind of down-to-earth talent rising to the top.
Dortmund, Here We Come!
From February 6th to 8th, 2026, the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund will be our territory. I’ll be there for sure. Not just for the trade show and the new gadgets, but to see those Dutch gladiators shining in their cages. Forget the legal talk about names and rights; for us, this is the moment of the year.
Make sure to grab your tickets at germany2026.de. You’ll likely find me at the NPO stand with a beer or a coffee, ready to toast these winners.
The Dutch flag is going to be flying high in Dortmund—count on it!
