Welcome pigeon bosses and fans of top level sports. Today we dive into a success story that shows the pure magic of pigeon racing. Pigeon racing is emotion, pure adrenaline and top tier competition at the highest level. It is the thrill of waiting for the homecoming and then seeing that rocket drop from the sky. And when we talk about rockets, we must immediately head towards Zeeland. Because at the Statenhove in Middelburg lives an absolute grandmaster in our magnificent sport. Get ready for the phenomenal performances of Tom Beekman Pigeons!
The Niergnies Masterclass (April 25, 2026)
Last Saturday April 25th 2026 the short distance race from Niergnies was on the schedule. What a race, what dream weather. With a cloudless sky, 14 degrees on the thermometer and a fair, weak north wind, the pigeons were released at exactly 12:00 PM for a formidable battle. This is the real flying weather where the pure musclemen stand up.
Tom Beekman did not waste any time and struck mercilessly hard against no less than 2096 pigeons in CC Walcheren. Boom. A first and second place, immediately followed by a majestic avalanche of early pigeons in 15th, 26th and 32nd place among others.
His first pigeon, the giant with ring number NL.24-2405823 clocked in at 13:50:34 and thereby achieved an unparalleled speed of over 1381 meters per minute. And do you know who this winner is? That is “The 823”, exactly the same superior red cock who already struck insanely hard in 2025 by ruthlessly taking the 10th NPO Issoudun on his one day long distance debut! Talk about pure bravado.
The System and the Unprecedented History
Tom is known in the club and far beyond as an unparalleled specialist with the hens. The breeding loft in Middelburg is bursting with quality with legendary foundation breeders such as “Rooie Adwin” and super hen “Gijsje”. Rock hard selection, boundless passion and above all experiencing the sport with an enormous amount of pleasure, that is the true recipe.
Sometimes the secret lies in a totally unexpected corner. The rich history tells us that Tom’s wife Stefanie once took the pigeons to toss them on her way to work. She barely believed herself that her golden woman’s touch would have a positive influence on the results. The bizarre outcome? An unprecedented 1st Provincial Pont st Maxence in 2025 against 3131 pigeons with miracle fairy “The 905”. “The 905” is by the way another magnificent daughter of top hen “Elin”, named after the youngest of Tom’s three daughters.
And the highlights of Tom Beekman Pigeons just keep piling up:
The 312: This three year old class act thundered home on the Roye race in 2024 at a staggering 120 kilometers per hour and convincingly won the 1st Provincial against 5777 pigeons.
The 49: On a grueling and difficult Montlucon in 2021, this beautiful smoky blue hen struck inexorably with a 1st in the club and a 12th NPO.
The 91: A real boss in the loft who already excelled as a young bird and won the 1st Arras against 523 pigeons.
Ironclad References
True quality truly never belies itself. The foundation of this success rests partly on granite from the famous breeding lines of Hooymans Pigeons. Tom himself already bred the 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance of Department Zeeland in 2018. This titan was on the mother’s side a descendant of the world famous lines of “Harry” and “Doutzen” via J. Hendriks and Son and Anton Ruitenberg. Top blood that simply guarantees absolute dominance in the races.
Experience the Magic
Dear readers, this is exactly the reason why we all love the pigeon sport so deeply. Building your own strain, the thrilling tension while waiting and the total ecstasy of an early pigeon on the landing board.
