Gold Seekers from Puttershoek: E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg Crushes It Again from La Souterraine!

A smiling Gerard and Elly stand side by side outside their pigeon loft in Puttershoek, proudly celebrating their fantastic first-prize victory from La Souterraine with the E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg racing team.

Some lofts play for the minor prizes, but the real masters of the game compete simply to rewrite the history books. Last weekend brought old-fashioned goosebumps to Puttershoek. The champions behind the E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg partnership showed the competition every corner of the sky. Racing from this year onwards officially under Elly’s name as E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg, they grabbed the spotlight in spectacular fashion. With a fabulous victory in flying zone 1 and a breathtaking series in the Zuid West Section, they set the hearts of pigeon fanciers racing far beyond national borders. This is not just a casual hobby; this is top-tier sport with a capital T. Anyone who mentions E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg Pigeons knows it stands for pure class, heaps of bravado, and an unstoppable drive to reach the absolute summit.

Enjoying with the Wind in Their Tails

Let’s be honest: the one day long distance race from La Souterraine was a dream for any speed freak. No grueling, exhausting hours in the scorching heat where birds drop from the sky out of thirst, but a beautiful flight with the wind nicely on their backs. At exactly 07:00, the birds were liberated under a partly cloudy sky with a moderate southwesterly wind, wind force 4, and a crisp 15 degrees. Ideal weather for true athletes to put the pedal to the metal. The pigeons clearly agreed, as they stormed home across the 658.203-kilometer distance at breakneck speed.

On these ultra-fast flights, everything has to be flawless. Motivation must be at its peak, and the pigeons need to be razor-sharp. Well, everything was perfectly on point in Puttershoek. The first ace stormed over the antenna at exactly 14:27:24. That means a fabulous speed of 1471.172 meters per minute! The competition knew exactly what time it was right then and there. The figures behind this spectacular performance are absolutely mouth-watering:

  • Massive Competition: A huge liberation field of no less than 4781 pigeons from 482 different competitors took part in the Zuid West Section.

  • A Prize Percentage to Die For: Out of the 47 basketed E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg Pigeons, an incredible 34 managed to win a prize. That is a score of over 72 percent, which is unheard of at this level of racing!

The Result Sheet: Dominance with a Capital D

Anyone who thinks it stopped with just that one early bird clearly does not know the drive of this loft. The entire result sheet was completely dominated from top to bottom. Both in their own flying zone and in the massive section results, there was simply no stopping them. Take a look and enjoy the prizes won:

Flying Zone 1

In their own flying zone, the absolute first prize was claimed, after which the rest of the racing team blanketed the results: 1, 10, 13, 15, 26, 27, 44, 52, 68, 89, 104, 112, and so on, accumulating no less than 33 major top prizes.

Zuid West Section

Against the total might of the entire section, with those 4781 pigeons at the start, the cracks flew two birds thick into the top 10 under the name E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg. The complete list of won prizes speaks volumes: 5, 9, 150, 209, 210, 219, 221, 225, 255, 323, 328, 329, 414, 474, 475, 483, 593, 651, 681, 745, 764, 809, 825, 867, 886, 929, 932, 1088, 1110, 1205, 1314, 1366, 1472, and 1486.

This is no stroke of luck or a fluke; this is pure class. Putting up a series that leaves the competition speechless proves that the entire racing squad reached peak form at the exact same moment.

The Breeding Ground of Champions in Puttershoek

Behind these kinds of weekly masterpieces lies an ironclad vision. At E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg, they don’t do secrets, but they work incredibly hard. The system is thought out down to the smallest detail. Top-quality nutrition, crystal-clear home training, and motivation that sends sparks flying. But the most important element? Selection. Only the very best, those who prove they can storm along at the absolute top, earn a spot in the loft.

The golden bloodlines proved their worth once again on this race. The first pigeon timed is a grandson of the super breeder Leonardo, and right behind it, the second pigeon proved to be a direct son of Leonardo. Talk about a golden line!

This success, of course, does not just appear out of thin air. The history of the loft is already bursting with National Ace Pigeons and Teletext mentions. It is a strain built to win, generation after generation. You can also see this immediately in other lofts. All over the world, fanciers who switch to E. Reedijk-Jongekrijg Pigeons find immense success. Whether it is grueling One Loft Races on the other side of the globe or weekly club races at home, that winning mentality breeds through incredibly strong.

This Is Why We Love the Sport So Much

This weekend showed once again why pigeon racing is the absolute greatest hobby on this planet. The nerve-wracking waiting at the loft, scanning the blue sky, and then that unprecedented rush of adrenaline when they drop out of the right corner like a rocket. It is the passion, the fun, and the healthy tension that make this sport so beautiful. Fanciers who experience their sport with so much bravado and pleasure are worth their weight in gold to the entire pigeon world.

The season is in full swing, and the competition knows exactly what they are up against. In Puttershoek, the focus remains sharp, and this success tastes like a whole lot more. On to the next big clash!
