In the provisional KBDB ranking dated 13 September, Fonne Junior stood 1st National Ace Great Middle Distance Young Birds KBDB 2026.
That is impressive enough, but the way he built that position tells the real story.
At Bourges he finished 76th National against 16,705 pigeons. Then came Argenton, where he moved up to 27th National against 15,769 pigeons. At Chateauroux he sharpened the knife once more and finished 11th National against 12,504 pigeons.
Three national races. Three enormous fields. Three top performances.
His provisional total coefficient is 0.7142, but numbers alone do not completely capture what I like about this pigeon.
Look at the progression.
76th National. Then 27th National. Then 11th National.
Every time he was asked to perform again, he came closer to the front.
Earlier in the season Fonne Junior had already won 1st Angerville against 3,368 pigeons, proving that he has more than consistency. He also knows how to win.
That combination is gold in modern pigeon racing.
The Fonne Story Continues
This becomes even more interesting when you look behind Fonne Junior.
His father Fonne BE.22-6034064 was already one of the standout pigeons of the Thys loft, crowned 1st National Ace Great Middle Distance Yearlings KBDB 2023.
For a breeder, this is where a pedigree really starts to speak.
Winning a National Ace title is difficult enough. Producing a son who later leads another National Ace competition tells you much more about the strength of the family.
The mother of Fonne Junior is Vierzonneke 119 BE.23-6019119, herself a proven racer. Among her results are 1st Provincial Vierzon against 1,370 pigeons and 3rd Interprovincial Vierzon against 3,109 pigeons.
That is important.
This was not simply a famous cock paired to a pedigree hen. Both sides of the mating had already shown racing quality.
And that fits the philosophy of Nick and Roger perfectly.

At the same time, their young bird team was also pushing hard at national level. In the provisional standings dated 9 September they occupied 2nd place in the KBDB 1+2 Small Middle Distance Young Birds Championship 2026.
That gives this season a completely different weight.
One superstar can make a loft famous for a year. A team that performs with old birds and young birds at the same time tells you there is something deeper working behind the scenes.
- Selection.
- Management.
- Breeding.
- Health.
- And pigeons capable of repeating the job.
That is championship level pigeon sport.
Hallaar Did Not Arrive Here by Accident
The success of 2026 did not suddenly appear from nowhere.
Nick and Roger have been building this family for years, together with mother Godelieve. Through strict selection and carefully chosen introductions, the loft developed into one of those places where national performances keep returning.
Fonne became 1st National Ace Great Middle Distance Yearlings KBDB 2023. Iron Sagan followed with 1st National Ace Allround Young Birds KBDB 2024. Blue Dream won 1st National La Souterraine against 7,368 yearlings in 2024 and was the fastest pigeon of the complete convoy of 12,611 birds.
