Today we dive into the absolute epicenter of the Dutch pigeon racing sport. We are talking about a loft where passion, ruthless selection, and a pure winning mentality merge into an unbeatable machine. I am of course talking about Team van Oss Pigeons from Den Bosch. What these men pull out of their hat every week borders on the unbelievable. Grab a cup of coffee, lean back, and enjoy a display of top sport that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
The Demolition Ball of Laon and Chimay
Last weekend, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, it was that time again. The baskets opened in Laon for a race across more than 262 kilometers. The conditions were beautiful: lightly cloudy with a moderate southerly wind and a temperature of about 15 degrees. These are the races where true class rises to the top. And how! Against 3,248 pigeons in racing area 1 of Section 3, Team van Oss Pigeons showed exactly who is boss.
The result list reads like a dream for every fancier:
2nd and 5th place against 3,248 pigeons
An unprecedented series with 24th, 25th, 30th, 31st, 32nd, 33rd, and 37th place
A staggering 19 pigeons ranked in the top 100 of the uitslag
In the final count, they clocked 58 total prizes
This success did not just appear out of nowhere. Only a week earlier, on April 25, 2026, they also struck gold from Chimay. With a vicious wind right on the beak, real working weather for gladiators, Team van Oss claimed the absolute throne. With a speed of over 1,359 meters per minute, they dropped their first champion on the landing board like a comet to take 1st place against 3,409 pigeons. They effortlessly defeated giants like Team Hooymans. This is no longer luck; this is pure domination.
A History of Gold and Meedogenloze Selection
Irving van Oss and his men have built a list of achievements over the past few years that the average fancier can only dream of. In 2025, they were already the absolute top performers of Section Oost Brabant. Who does not remember that magical 1st, 2nd, and 4th NPO from Chateauroux? Or that extremely heavy edition of Issoudun where they ruthlessly secured the 1st National Sector 1 Rayon B? They even conquered the title of 1st National Champion One Day Long Distance Nominated NPO in 2019.
The foundations of this success story rest on phenomena like:
Olympic Yoni: a world class hen that joined the breeding lofts to secure future glory
Broken Leg: ring number NL16-1665605, a flyer and breeder with value beyond calculation
Olympic Mick: the ultimate powerhouse for long distance racing
It is no surprise that countless other top lofts at home and abroad swear by the genetics of Team van Oss Pigeons to lift their own racing team to an extremely high level.
The Path to the Top: System and Passion
Why are these men so successful? The team, consisting of Irving and Erik, focuses with full dedication on the middle distance, one day long distance (dagfond), and young bird races. It is a combination of bravado, a rock hard approach, and using the very best bloodlines. They raise the bar higher every season and inspire a whole new generation of fanciers.
This is exactly why we all love the pigeon racing sport so much. The hours of preparation, scraping the lofts in the early morning, and the search for the perfect system. It all comes together in that one magical moment when a pigeon drops from the sky like a bullet.
Do you also want to fly the competition into a pile? Look at the masters from Den Bosch and learn. The pigeon racing sport is alive and kicking and more beautiful than ever before!
Congratulations Team van Oss, you are the pride of Oost Brabant!
