History has officially been made in Southern African pigeon racing.Â
For nine long years, strict veterinary restrictions prohibited the movement of pigeons from African countries into South Africa, keeping borders firmly shut. Following that single initial shipment years ago, the door had remained closed. Now, that nine year drought is officially broken, opening the door wide for future shipments!
A premier contingent of 340 proven racing pigeons from the world renowned Victoria Falls World Challenge Pigeon Race has safely touched down on South African soil. These birds are currently completing official quarantine at the Kaladokwe Quarantine Centre in Cradock and will be offered to the global market through an exclusive auction organized by Top Pigeon, with the pigeons scheduled to become available from the end of November 2026.
For fanciers across South Africa, this represents an unprecedented chance to directly introduce battle tested Victoria Falls bloodlines into their stock lofts without facing complex cross border logistics. For the global pigeon racing community, it is a magnificent celebration of persistence, administrative triumph, and world class genetics.
Iron Proven Athletes of the 2026 Racing Campaign
Make no mistake about it: not just any bird makes this roster. While the first string of Victoria Falls racers was sold on PIPA, every single one of these 340 pigeons successfully completed the demanding 2026 Victoria Falls racing program in Zimbabwe.
That feat culminated in back to back ultimate tests of endurance, orientation, and courage: two separate races of 591 kilometers each, conquering both the legendary Final Race and the grueling Enduro race. Pigeons competing under the blazing African sun, navigating demanding topography, and holding true line with varying winds, both cross and head, are athletes of a completely different caliber.

These survivors represent the absolute gold standard of physical resistance and homing ability. Time and again it has been demonstrated that numerous high performance pigeons in One Loft Races across the world have been bred from birds that completed the rigorous Victoria Falls program. When a pigeon conquers 591 kilometers twice in the toughest arena on the African continent, its breeding value and genetic class are beyond debate.
World Class Bloodlines Ready for the Global Stage
The caliber of genetics behind this group is extraordinary. Sourced from the finest breeding lofts and international champions across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, South Africa, and beyond, these athletes carry bloodlines engineered for top tier performance.
While hosting the auction on South African soil is a monumental victory for local breeders, the doors are wide open for fanciers worldwide. Buyers from South Africa, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, China, and across the globe will have equal opportunity to bid on these 340 African conquerors.
