Ten pigeons entered. Ten pigeons on the result sheet. First and second prize for Corjan and Annemiek Tiggelman from Middelharnis.
And as if this clean sweep was not impressive enough, their first nominated pigeon was their second arrival. The Pigeon Boss has only one verdict for a performance like this: a masterclass in pigeon racing.
Pure Dominance from Cambrai
The pigeons were released from Cambrai at 08.15 on Saturday, 29 August 2026. The distance to the Tiggelman loft was 190.903 kilometres.
At 09.59.04, NL25-1270217 V arrived. Recording a velocity of 1,834.414 metres per minute, this hen claimed first prize against 268 pigeons entered by 13 competitors.
Only 46 seconds later came the icing on the cake. Their first nominated pigeon, NL24-8388201 V, was clocked at 09.59.50 and secured second prize.
That made this a double victory with even greater value. Not only was the fastest pigeon of the competition sitting on their loft, but the confidence placed in their first nominated pigeon was also rewarded in style.
Ten Entered and Ten Prizes
The complete series achieved by Family Tiggelman speaks for itself:

No guessing. No excuses. Just results.
Built on a Rich Family History
Pigeon racing runs deep in the Tiggelman family. Corjan became fascinated by the pigeons at a very young age while helping his grandfather, C. van der Weide, in Middelharnis.
In 2008 and 2009, he started with seven pairs and twenty youngsters in part of the lofts belonging to Luud Barendrecht. Luud, a former loft manager for Cor and Corrie Dubbeld, taught him many of the finer details of the sport.
In 2019, Annemiek also caught the pigeon racing bug, partly through the launch of the Ladies League. Since then, Corjan and Annemiek have formed a strong family team in which cooperation and healthy competition go hand in hand.
The Foundation Behind the Performances
One of the foundations of the colony is the legendary breeder “Vader Abraham”, NL02-1581616 M. This cock came from the established family of Luud Barendrecht. His descendants can still be found in some of the best pigeons on the Tiggelman loft.
Another important breeding pair was formed by “Willem”, NL05-1398651 M, and “Willemientje”, NL07-1821901 V. Both came from the lines of W.A. de Bruijn.
This pair bred several important pigeons:
- “Cavendisch”, NL13-1199111 M
- “Dinteloord”, NL17-1243635 M
- “Paddenstoel”, NL17-1243668 M
As a yearling, “Cavendisch” won first prize from Peronne against 16,718 pigeons. He later developed into an important breeder.
The breeding pair “Cor” and “Corrie”, put together by Luud Barendrecht, has also made a major contribution. “Cor”, NL12-1577423 M, can be found in the ancestry of NL21-1166596, winner from Lennik against 36,464 pigeons.
These are not simply famous names on a pedigree. This is a family that has been selected for generations on early prizes, consistency and pure racing quality.

A Record of Absolute Class
The Cambrai clean sweep fits perfectly into an already impressive series of achievements. Some of the loft’s major highlights include:
- 1st Golden Pigeon Junior in 2014
- 1st Peronne against 16,718 pigeons with NL13-1199111 M
- 1st National Nominated Middle Distance Youth in 2018
- 1st National Middle Distance Ace Pigeon Youth in 2018 with NL16-1489937 V
- 3rd Fontenay against 4,053 pigeons in 2020
- 4th Fontenay against 5,532 pigeons in 2020
- 1st Lennik against 36,464 pigeons with NL21-1166596
- Winner of the Liquidambar Hoveniers Grand Prix from Pontoise in 2025 with “Guus”, NL25-7029252
The record shows the versatility of the Tiggelman colony. From speed to middle distance and long middle distance, and from individual winners to complete loft performances, the quality is there across the board.
A Masterclass in Pigeon Racing
This clean sweep from Cambrai is a performance to be proud of. Ten entered, ten prizes, the first two positions in the competition and the first nominated pigeon clocked as their second arrival.
That is preparation. That is confidence. That is elite performance.
Corjan and Annemiek Tiggelman have once again shown that modern pigeon racing is both a magnificent family sport and international top level competition. With their powerful family of pigeons, winning mentality and relentless drive to improve, we can expect much more from this ambitious team from Middelharnis.
Congratulations, Corjan and Annemiek. This sensational double deserves the spotlight.
