This was not a result built around one early arrival. This was a complete team in top condition.
With 33 pigeons entered and 17 prizes won, Piet achieved a prize percentage of 51.52 percent. Once again, the colony from Vijlen showed why Lindelauf Pigeons have been associated with speed, consistency and elite performances against major competition for decades.
Gien Became Another Test of Strength for Lindelauf Pigeons
The pigeons were released from Gien on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 09.40. The race attracted 811 pigeons from 68 fanciers. Conditions included partly cloudy skies, a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and a moderate west wind at force 3.
Piet’s pigeons faced a journey of 420.813 kilometres back to Vijlen.
At 14.54.04, NL26-8275772 hit the clock. With an average speed of 1,339.883 metres per minute, this pigeon claimed 12th prize.
Only eight seconds later, NL26-2632229 arrived to secure 13th. At 14.54.28, NL26-8275764 completed the opening block by taking 14th.
Three pigeons in 24 seconds.
That is the moment every fancier knows. The first arrivals are on the clock, and the team is coming.

A prize percentage above fifty percent is strong, but the real quality of this Gien result can be found at the front.
After taking 12th, 13th and 14th, Piet continued with 16th and 17th. That gave him five pigeons among the first seventeen. The 19th and 22nd prizes brought the total to seven early arrivals.
The first seven Lindelauf Pigeons were clocked between 14.54.04 and 14.56.41. Only two minutes and 37 seconds separated them after more than 420 kilometres of racing.

The performance from Gien fits perfectly into a season in which Piet Lindelauf has produced several exceptional results. These five races belong among the major highlights of Lindelauf Pigeons in 2026.
Sourdun Against 14,304 Pigeons
On May 9, Piet won 1st, 2nd and 3rd from Sourdun against 3,471 pigeons in the Southeast competition. He collected 33 prizes from 42 entries, producing a prize percentage of 78.57 percent.
At Section level, the same leading pigeons achieved 2nd, 3rd and 4th against 14,304 pigeons. Piet recorded 35 prizes from 42 entries, equal to an impressive 83.33 percent.
Three pigeons among the first four against more than fourteen thousand competitors. That was a pure masterclass.
Sens with 90.24 Percent Prize
Piet entered 41 pigeons for the race from Sens. No fewer than 37 of them won an official prize.
The result opened with 1st, 2nd and 3rd against 1,256 pigeons. The next leading arrivals included 11th, 12th, 14th, 20th and 21st.
With a prize percentage of 90.24 percent, this race showed the exceptional strength across the Lindelauf Pigeons team. Only four of Piet’s entries missed the result.
Charleville Mézières with the First Nine Prizes
On July 12, the young birds from Charleville Mézières took complete control of the top of the result.
Piet won 1st through 9th against 685 pigeons. The 14th and 16th prizes quickly followed. In total, 52 of his 59 entries appeared on the result, equal to a prize percentage of 88.14 percent.
Nine pigeons in a row at the front. That is team dominance in its purest form.
Reims with Seven Pigeons at the Provincial Top
On July 25, Piet won the first seven prizes from Reims in De Union. The performance continued at provincial level against 4,130 pigeons.
Lindelauf Pigeons secured 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 13th. With 43 prizes from 55 entered pigeons, the provincial prize percentage reached 78.18 percent.
Seven pigeons among the first thirteen in the Section. That is championship level racing.
Rethel Delivered the First Major Warning
On April 25, NL25-1472774 won 1st from Rethel against 3,681 pigeons. Piet collected 34 prizes from 47 entries, producing a prize percentage of 72.34 percent.
At Section level, NL25-1472774 achieved 2nd against 14,638 pigeons. Piet won 39 prizes from the same 47 entries, an outstanding prize percentage of 82.98 percent.
Rethel was not an isolated result. It was the warning that Lindelauf Pigeons were ready for a major season.
Piet Lindelauf Continues to Perform with the Complete Team
From Rethel, Sourdun and Sens to Charleville Mézières, Reims and now Gien, the same picture keeps returning. The success does not depend on one exceptional pigeon. Complete groups arrive early and continue to fill the result.
Gien delivered fresh confirmation. Seventeen prizes from 33 pigeons, five pigeons among the first seventeen and seven pigeons among the first 22.
