What an insanely fascinating sport we participate in. There is truly nothing more beautiful than those early morning hours, the tension coursing through your body, and the goosebumps on your arms when our winged athletes drop from the sky like comets. In the beautiful South Limburg hills of Vijlen, grandmaster Piet Lindelauf proves week after week that elite sport, passion, and pure class merge seamlessly. True experts know that reaching the absolute top is one thing, but dominating there for decades requires vision, iron discipline, and a healthy dose of pure bravado.
Last weekend, the young bird race from Brienne La Vieille was on the agenda in Section 4. Anyone who thought the competition could take a breather was sorely mistaken! With a spectacular chain result, Piet Lindelauf Pigeons showed once again who the absolute kings of the sky are!
The Battle of Brienne La Vieille: Pure Quality Across the Board
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, 140 passionate fanciers from Section 4 gathered with a total of 2,800 pigeons at the starting line in Brienne La Vieille. At exactly 08:30 AM, the release signal sounded under fair and beautiful conditions. The weather was clear, with a light northeast wind of force 2 and a crisp temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. A northeast wind meant that the young birds had to fight for every single kilometer on pure muscle power, orientation, and grit. No tailwind to mask any weakness, just a grueling exam for true champions!
Across a distance of over 288 kilometers, the clocks in Vijlen simply never stopped. Piet Lindelauf basketed a sharply selected team of exactly 50 athletes. What happened next on the notification systems was a complete joy for any pigeon enthusiast.
Thundering across the landing board with a dizzying speed of 1313.774 meters per minute, the first pigeon clocked in at 12:09:52 PM, closely followed by her loft mates. In a breathtaking series, the colony from Vijlen captured no less than 32 prizes out of 50 basketed pigeons! That translates to a massive and impressive prize percentage of 64.0%!

A Season Full of Historic Highlights
To truly appreciate the incredible form of Piet Lindelauf Pigeons in 2026, we only need to look back at the trail of dominance Piet left behind earlier this season:
The Battle of Rethel (April 25, 2026): Total decimation of the competition where NL25-1472774 claimed 1st prize against 3,681 pigeons. Piet casually flew no less than 34 solid positions into the results that day.
The Sourdun Wrecking Ball (May 9, 2026): A historic demonstration where Piet hijacked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes against 3,471 pigeons in the SouthEast Corner, led by the phenomenal hen Young Ace. Provincially against 14,304 pigeons, he captured 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
The Demonstration at Charleville Mézières (July 12, 2026): With the youngsters against 685 pigeons, Piet took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, and 16th on a single line, winning 52 prizes out of 59 entered birds for a staggering prize percentage of 84.36%!
The Reims Spectacle (July 25, 2026): In the club, he occupied the entire top of the board from 1st to 7th prize. Provincially against 4,130 pigeons, Piet Lindelauf Pigeons claimed 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 13th positions with a provincial prize percentage of 78.18%.
The Unshakable Foundation: The Legacy of Gerard and Liam
Behind this continuous stream of success lies a rock solid strain of pigeons, built on a foundation of decades of uncompromising selection. With endless passion and a healthy dose of bravado, Piet masterfully builds on the unshakeable foundation laid by his father, Gerard Lindelauf.
The absolute cornerstone and golden engine of this flying fortress has been the miracle breeder Liam (NL13-1544966) for years. Whether the sun is blazing or the birds must push hard against headwind, the descendants of this golden cock always find their way to the podium. It is this unique genetic base that already crowned Piet as 1st Best Fancier of the Netherlands Unnominated in 2025, alongside securing six national top ten rankings.
Pigeon racing is alive, buzzing, and proves in Vijlen that passion and elite performance form the ultimate partnership. Deep respect to Piet for this magnificent display of class from Brienne La Vieille! On to the next aerial spectacle in the skies!
