When the true marathon flyers sharpen their knives at the kitchen table for the ultimate classics, one name in Made immediately sparks high voltage: Rex de Leeuw. Together with his girlfriend Toos, he experiences the pigeon sport with a massive dose of joy and a healthy splash of pure bravado. But make no mistake, behind that broad smile hides the killer instinct of an absolute grandmaster. Last weekend, it was that time again. The legendary race from St. Vincent was on the agenda. A race that will go down in the books as a smooth edition with excellent flying conditions, proving to be the perfect backdrop for a historic demonstration of pure class by De Leeuw Pigeons from Made.
Four pigeons sent, four pigeons hard in the prizes. A one hundred percent score. A Clean Sweep of the highest order! While the competition licks its wounds, Rex de Leeuw looks at the results with a highly critical and ambitious eye. Four out of four is fantastic, but they did not arrive early enough for his liking. The maestro’s verdict? They are perfectly healthy and in great shape, but the absolute peak form is yet to come. That promises something special for the rest of the season!
The St. Vincent Flight Line: Speeds Flying Well Over Twelve Hundred Meters
St. Vincent offered the pigeons a beautiful line of flight this year. Released at 11:00 AM in French Tyrosse, the athletes of the sky caught a favorable tailwind. This ensured a smooth and fair race in which the top birds immediately showed their worth. The winning pigeons thundered home at speeds well over 1800 meters per minute. In Made, the birds also knew exactly how to handle these conditions. The fact that De Leeuw Pigeons achieved a one hundred percent score here proves the incredible depth and ironclad foundation of this strain.
The flawless execution of this weekend’s masterclass is clearly visible in the official results of De Leeuw Pigeons:
1st Arrival (1119.685 m/min): Flying home at a blistering speed, position 159 was claimed by bird 1-2112413, securing a strong 759.9 points.
2nd Arrival (1072.539 m/min): Close behind, position 278 was taken by the clocked hen 4-2413798V, adding another 579.0 points to the tally.
3rd Arrival (996.884 m/min): Keeping the momentum going, bird 3-2303908 touched down smoothly to take position 582 and 117.0 points.
4th Arrival (995.628 m/min): Completing the spectacular perfect score, bird 3-2303921V landed just seconds later to secure position 586 and 110.9 points.

The Gold of the Amazing Louise Strain
Anyone analyzing the results will immediately see one bloodline dominating the field: the gold of Amazing Louise. During her own racing career, this phenomenal hen won the 1st National Sector 1 Bordeaux against no less than 10,638 pigeons. That these genes are pure gold was proven crystal clear last weekend on St. Vincent.
The very first pigeon to clock in Made is none other than a full brother of Amazing Louise. What a powerhouse this bird is. This iron racer has managed to arrive as the very first bird of the loft from St. Vincent for the third year in a row. Last year, in 2024, he even won 3rd in the province. A chunk of experience and pure class.
Shortly after, the second pigeon arrived at the finish line. A beautiful daughter of Amazing Louise, who is a granddaughter of Zoë on the father’s side. We are talking about true royalty in the pedigree here, as grandmother Zoë herself flew the 2e National Sector 1 and 3rd National overall from St. Vincent against 12,152 pigeons back in 2020! Good blood never lies, that much is clear once again.
The third racer of the day was a direct son of that same Zoë. A cock that already showed what he was made of last year with a 4th and 9th in the province from Bressols and Bergerac. Rex secretly expected him even a bit earlier, which just goes to show how incredibly high the bar is set at De Leeuw Pigeons.
One Hundred Percent Score: Why This Is Truly Special
In the pigeon sport, people often talk about early arrivals, but true experts know that a one hundred percent score on a classic like St. Vincent is always extraordinary. Basketting four pigeons and winning prizes with all four of them flawlessly is a masterpiece that testifies to legendary preparation and unparalleled quality across the board. Not a single bird failed; they all fought for their boss and the honor of Made.
The System of an Independent Champion
Rex de Leeuw did not become a top flyer through a famous pigeon family or a deep wallet. He entered the sport as a seller of agricultural feed and pigeon food. Since 2001, he has been taking things seriously at his own location, with his focus entirely fixed on the marathon races. Where he prefers to spend no more than five minutes in the lofts during winter, he completely lives for his pigeons in the summer. From the first light of dawn until the sun goes down, Rex is busy with his colony.
He races exclusively on the nest system with complete pairs. This harmony, combined with the ironclad blood of his old stock cock Ad and the legendary Cor de Heijde lines, forms the foundation of this success. The result? A resume that makes your head spin, including winning the 1st International PIPA IATP Ranking and the title of 1st National Ace Pigeon ZLU with the miracle hen Cathy.
Rex de Leeuw proves that pigeon racing is elite sport, but a sport driven by an enormous smile and pure passion. The competition has been warned: De Leeuw Pigeons are warmed up, the Clean Sweep of St. Vincent is just the beginning, and the absolute top form is on its way!
